Beirut is hosting an extended solidarity meeting with the Iranian media.. Free voices expose the crimes of the occupation and demand international prosecution

An extensive solidarity meeting with the Iranian media was organized in the Lebanese capital Beirut, under the slogan: “Israel is killing media workers,” with the wide participation of Lebanese and Arab political, media and trade union figures, as well as representatives of media organizations, human rights bodies, journalists ' defense unions, parliamentary and religious figures. The meeting, which took place in the BIR Hassan area of Beirut, reflected the scale of the accumulated anger in the media and human rights circles due to the continuous Israeli escalation against media professionals in the confrontation arenas, especially in Palestine, Lebanon and Iran.

 

Opening: a symbolic pause in front of aggression against the media

The meeting was opened with the Lebanese national anthem, followed by an influential documentary showing the recent Israeli attack on the Iranian media, where the Iranian radio and Television Corporation was bombed in Tehran, which led to the martyrdom and injury of a number of media workers.

 

Representative of the Lebanese Ministry of information: the Battle of the word continues in the face of the occupation

In the first speech, the representative of the Lebanese Ministry of Information, Mr. Khader Majed, delivered the ministry's speech, expressing Lebanon's full solidarity with the Iranian media and other free media institutions in the face of the Israeli occupation. He said:
“What the Lebanese media suffers from targeting, repression and distortion is the same as what the Islamic Republic of Iran suffers, and its media, which plays a pivotal role in conveying the truth, especially in Gaza, where media people are martyrs of Word and image.”
Majed stressed that the Israeli attack is not directed against a specific institution, but against every free voice that conveys the truth and confronts the Zionist project with truth, word and image, stressing Lebanon's moral and professional commitment to support the Resistance Media.

 

Ibrahim al-Moussawi: the Resistance Media is at the heart of the battle... and the free word has become a military goal

As for the chairman of the Parliamentary Information and Communications Committee, MP Ibrahim al-Mousawi, he considered that the battle today goes beyond the military nature of the field to a media battle par excellence, where the free word has become a direct target, like any military site.
Moussawi said: "the Resistance media not only conveys the event, but also creates awareness and establishes the public opinion of the resistance, and therefore targets, pursues and assassinates “”
He described the assassinations, bombings and harassment of the Iranian media as a composite crime against the truth and humanity, calling for a broad international legal action to uncover and document these crimes and prosecute the perpetrators before international justice.

 

Nasser Akhdar: Iran is fighting the battle on behalf of all the free people of the world

For his part, deputy secretary general of the Islamic broadcasting and television Union Sheikh Nasser Akhdar stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran is waging a comprehensive battle against the system of injustice and aggression on behalf of all free people in this world. He said:
"The Iranian media stands in the face of the most notorious forgery and disinformation systems “ We all have to support him because he is fighting for human dignity, winning for the vulnerable.”
He stressed that the resistant media, despite the targeting, continues to withstand the distortion, prevention and digital blockade practiced by global platforms, because its message is not based on hatred but on revealing the truth.

 

Ebrahim Farhat: what happened to the Iranian media is an extension of the occupation's historical approach to suppressing the free speech

As for the chairman of the Supreme Council of the Union of Islamic radio and television and the general director of al-Manar channel, Ibrahim Farhat, he considered that the targeting of the Iranian radio and Television Authority is an episode in a long series of targeting the Resistance media stretching from Lebanon to Palestine, Syria and Yemen.
He said: "today we stand with the Iranian media and with the media workers who are firmly in their positions who are facing the front of falsehood to uphold the word of truth “
Farhat added: "Iran today represents a moral and humanitarian model of a country of values, which is why it is being constantly targeted “

 

Nasser Kandil: Palestine is the password of all aggression

Nasser Qandil, editor-in-chief of Al-Banna media Newspaper, delivered a banner speech in which he described Palestine as the “secret word” behind all the targets targeting the Resistance Forces. He said:
“They destroyed our suburbs, our south, our villages, they killed our leaders, and the password is Palestine. Today they are bombing Tehran, assassinating scientists, targeting the media... and the password is still Palestine.”
Kandil singled out the media Sahar Emami with a special greeting, considering her a living witness to the media challenge in the face of the Israeli oppression machine.

 

Ghassan Rifi: the Resistance Media has become a full front of confrontation

For his part, the representative of the Lebanese Press editors syndicate, Ghassan Rifi, considered that the targeting of media professionals comes within an old Zionist policy to fight the truth and hide the crimes of the occupation.
"With the media resistance we expose them, with the voice we weaken them, with the image we break their pride “ That is why the Resistance Media has become a target for Israel.”
He stressed that everyone who holds the phone and documents aggression is a soldier in the Battle of the word.

 

Ghassan Javad: Iran is the last bulwark against the hegemonic system

In his speech on behalf of the national media meeting, journalist Ghassan Javad stressed that what Iran is being subjected to is a direct targeting of the dignity of all the peoples of the free zone, stressing that Iran is fighting in defense of Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen, Syria and Iraq, because it is a country that stands in the face of projects of Western domination and plunder.

 

Mohammed al-Zubaidi: the Resistance Media is a complementary front to the military front

As for the Yemeni journalist Mohammed al-Zubaidi from the Al-Masirah network, he considered that the targeting of the Iranian media is evidence of the occupation's impotence in front of the free word, which enhances the consciousness of the nation and exposes the Western media disinformation campaigns.
He stressed that the Battle of the media is an integral part of the military battle, calling for supporting the resistant media in the face of the comprehensive attack to which it is exposed.

 

Hala Haddad: towards an international media coalition to break the siege and obfuscation of crimes

Hala Haddad, on behalf of the syndicate of visual and audio media workers in Lebanon, called for the formation of a broader international media alliance to break the blackout on the occupation's crimes against media workers, stressing that the moment requires practical solidarity that goes beyond traditional statements to a field action that protects the free speech from the weapon of physical liquidation.

 

Maryam Nasr: targeting the media is a war crime that calls for international accountability

The representative of the journalists Support Committee, Maryam Nesser, described the crimes committed against media workers as a full-fledged war crime in accordance with international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions.
She stressed that those responsible for these crimes should be referred to the International Criminal Court, stressing that the continued international silence is an open complicity with the murderers.

 

The message of the Iranian media: we will not retreat... and the free word is stronger than bombing

In a direct message from Tehran, quoted by the media Buthaina aliq, the head of the Iranian radio and Television Authority, Biman Jebali, confirmed that the Israeli attack on the authority and the martyrdom of three media workers will not stop the March of the Resistance media, but will increase its insistence on exposing the crimes of the occupation and exposing it to the world.
"We will continue to fulfill our mission by revealing the truth despite the bombing, and we will remain the voice of resistance no matter what sacrifices.”

 

Systematic crimes without accountability... and the campaign continues

This meeting comes in light of the continuing escalation of targeting of journalists in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran, where human rights organizations have documented the martyrdom of hundreds of media workers in recent years in direct targeting crimes, without any serious action from the international community to break the policy of impunity that allows the occupation to continue its open war on free speech.
