The Islamic broadcasting and television Union, under the auspices of the Acting Minister of information in the government of change and construction, Dr. Omar al-Bukhaiti, organized a solidarity event with the Yemeni media and journalists who were martyred as a result of the Israeli aggression on the headquarters of the September 26 and Yemeni newspapers in Sana'a last month .
During the event, which was attended by a number of officials, journalists, media professionals and representatives of media organizations, the director of the Office of the Union of Islamic radio and television - Yemen branch, Jalal al-Saloul, stressed that the Union stands by Yemeni media professionals and journalists and continue to walk the path of martyrs.
"The Zionist enemy's targeting of journalists and press institutions in Yemen, Palestine, Lebanon and Iran is not a passing targeting, but a systematic targeting aimed at burying the truth, liquidating morale and clearing the arena of the word, so that the enemy's narrative remains the dominant one,"he pointed out.
For his part, the Acting Minister of information, Omar al-Bukhaiti, stressed "the role of the Yemeni media in exposing the crimes of the occupation and countering the Zionist media campaigns," stressing the need to continue steadfastness in this fateful battle from the history of the Islamic nation.
For his part, deputy chairman of the committee to support journalists Abdul Hafez Mojab said in a statement :" We stand today at this solidarity event to confirm that the Yemeni media was and still is a front of confrontation, indicating that" Yemeni steadfastness is an extension of the steadfastness of media institutions, media professionals and journalists.For his part, the undersecretary of the Ministry of information for the Foreign Relations and media sector, Mohammed Mansour, pointed out that" the aim of targeting journalists in Gaza, Yemen, Lebanon and Iran is to silence the voice of truth and to allow the Zionist media to seize the public memory of the Arab street, but the enemy failed in this due to the steadfastness of the resistance. Mansour pointed out that " the United Nations and all its institutions have fallen since the United Nations recognized the Zionist entity, indicating that the popular exodus today on the streets of Europe and the world is the result of the fall of the United Nations.
For his part, the editor-in-chief of the Yemen newspaper, Talal Al-Sharabi, thanked the Union of Islamic radio and television for organizing this solidarity event with the martyrs of the September 26 newspapers and Yemen, who rose as a result of the crime of Zionist aggression on the tenth of last September". "We emphasize that the ink will not dry up and the pen will not break, and the Yemeni and September 26 newspapers will remain a platform for free and honest speech,"he added. In his speech, the editor-in-chief of the September 26 newspaper, Nasser Al-khodri, stressed that "the horrific crime committed by the Zionist gang against the journalists of September 26 and Yemen is an unprecedented massacre in the history of Journalism at the regional level".
Al-Khodari expressed his surprise at the " international silence on this crime and double standards, as the United Nations and the Western countries that sing about freedom of opinion and expression overlooked this massacre that targeted Yemeni journalists, stressing to continue to defend national issues and the issues of the nation, especially the Palestinian issue.
Al-Khudari thanked the Islamic broadcasting and television Union for organizing this solidarity event, wishing the rest of the concerned unions and institutions to take the initiative to show solidarity with the Yemeni Press and condemn the Zionist crime against Yemeni journalists.
In the final statement of the event, the union reiterated its condemnation in the harshest terms of the heinous crime committed by the Zionist enemy by deliberately targeting journalists and media workers in the capital Sana'a, which led to the martyrdom of 32 journalists and the wounding of 22 others, stressing that "this criminal act represents a full-fledged war crime, to be added to the record of his crimes that require accountability and punishment".
The union called on all concerned Arab, Islamic and international organizations to fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities by exposing the crimes of the Israeli entity and pressing by all means to hold it accountable for its repeated crimes against journalists.
The statement stressed " the unity of the position and fate in the Resistance Media Front in Yemen, Lebanon, Palestine, Iran and Iraq, pledging the martyrs to continue the approach they took with their pure blood, defending the nation's fateful issues, especially the central Palestinian issue, with all courage and determination, no matter how challenges and sacrifices.
The statement stressed the "importance of strengthening the mechanisms of coordination, integration and media cooperation between the Resistance media in order to unify the media discourse and confront hostile media campaigns".
