The Union of Islamic radio and television condemns in the strongest terms the Israeli aggression that targeted the newspapers "September 26" and"Yemen" in the Republic of Yemen, and caused a number of martyrs and wounded journalists, and the Union confirms that the targeting of media institutions and press cadres comes in the context of attempts to silence the voice of truth and deprive people of their legitimate right to access information, documenting crimes and violations.
This dangerous act of targeting media institutions and media professionals on an ongoing basis puts the international system that raises the slogans of freedom and Human Rights in front of major responsibilities, as the Israeli aggressions continue without the slightest accountability, and therefore, everyone who justifies aggression against media professionals and media institutions or covers it, bears full responsibility and is an accomplice in the crime.
The Union commends the Yemeni media, which, despite all the difficulties and sacrifices, has proved its effective role in highlighting the firmness and composure of the Yemeni people in the face of attacks, and in the outstanding contribution by raising the voice loudly in support of the truth and uncovering crimes, which the aggression is trying to target to hide the truth.
The protection of journalists and media institutions is a right guaranteed by international conventions and conventions, in particular the Geneva Conventions, the International Covenant on civil and political rights and the relevant Security Council resolutions, which makes this aggression a clear violation of international law and a blatant attack on media freedom.
Accordingly, the union calls on international human rights and humanitarian organizations, as well as media organizations around the world, to condemn this aggression, take immediate action to hold the perpetrators accountable, and hold accountable all those who provided cover for it or kept silent about these ongoing crimes.
Please accept the highest respect and appreciation
