The speaker of the Lebanese parliament Nabih Berri received on Tuesday a delegation from the Union of Islamic radio and television headed by the deputy secretary general of the Union, Sheikh Nasser Akhdar, in a meeting to discuss the Lebanese and regional situations, and the role of the Resistance media in the face of the ongoing Israeli war.
For his part, the Under-Secretary-General of the Islamic broadcasting and television Union, Sheikh Nasser Akhdar, described the meeting with President Berri as fruitful and vital, pointing out that he discussed the national and regional role of Lebanon in the face of Israeli aggressions, the need to implement Resolution 1701, and the efforts of the Union to keep abreast of everything that concerns Lebanese affairs and defend legitimate national rights, based on his Media Responsibility and values.
In a press statement after the meeting, Sheikh Akhdar added that during the meeting, the delegation reviewed the pivotal role played by the Union in the Arab, Islamic and international media scene, especially during the battles of "Al-Aqsa flood" and "Uli Al-Bassa", which formed a historical turn in the Arab and Islamic consciousness about the image of Zionist crime and murder, in exchange for the image of sacrifice, heroism and victory.
He explained that the importance of the Resistance Media has emerged in conveying the truth, defending the right and confronting misinformation and bias, and one of the most prominent results of this war was the loss of Israel's media narrative, which fell irretrievably, as the union had a distinct impact in this field, it is spread in more than 35 countries and includes about 250 media outlets and media organizations that speak 10 languages around the world.
During the meeting, the delegation presented a shield in honor of His Excellency President Berri in recognition of his positions and his continuous support for the Resistance Media.
For his part, President Berri presented a set of political and national positions.
