The Palestinian people, and especially the people of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, have been subjected to the most heinous forms of genocide, violations against humanity, intended and brutal killing, especially against the children and the elderly, since the beginning of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. They have also been experiencing displacement, starvation, destruction of the houses and property of the Gazan people, and hospitals, and the killing of all aspects of life in the strip. This is happening in front of the entire world, prompting a massive wave of support and solidarity with the Palestinian people by the alive forces in most of the world countries, against the barbarism of the 'Israeli' occupation forces.
Given the critical historic phase the Palestinian cause is witnessing this year, and on the occasion of the "International Al-Quds Day", which was called for by late Imam Khomeini, and the historic chance and beam of hope it represents this year, despite the mounting pressure put on different peoples, institutions, organizations, figures, and governments; Al-Quds and Palestine remain the central cause that needs every alive conscience to defend the oppressed Palestinian people in Gaza, confront the occupation of the holy lands, and refuse hegemony, injustice, and arrogance.
For this, the IRTVU wishes that the concerned parties work to make the "International Al-Quds Day" this year a day of absolute rage and rejection of the US-Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian people. It also wishes that this occasion be a valuable chance to boost awareness and deep understanding of the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people, and to establish a new phase of awareness as victory is coming closer.
For this:
First: The IRTVU considers the commemoration of the "International Al-Quds Day" a permanent media priority, especially amid the current historic circumstances that require intensive work, and more efforts and attention by journalists and media outlets, to give the occasion its due attention to lift injustice practiced against Gaza and the resisting Palestinian people, demand their rights, and condemn the occupation's criminal acts.
Second: The IRTVU calls on all affiliated media outlets, and whoever has media influence, as well as effective presence on social media platforms and new media, to get involved in the widest awareness campaign to the events happening on the occupied Palestinian land, and to focus on the influential Palestinian narrative that reflects the right of the Palestinian people, affirm the criminality of the Zionist occupation and the double standards of the countries that support it, to broadcast and publish in several languages all over the world.
Third: The IRTVU urges international media organizations, different media outlets, and every free and honorable person who can carry out any media action, to increase attention paid to the Palestinian cause, and the injustice against the Palestinian people, for the humanitarian and international aspects that exceed the limits of sects, religions, and political calculations. It also calls on media outlets, organizations, and governmental bodies, to dedicate special resources to support the Palestinian media outlets and Palestinian journalists, especially those being at risk but who still insist on performing their duties in live coverage in Gaza, the West Bank, and all over the occupied Palestinian territories.
Fourth: The IRTVU invites media outlets for a unique coverage of this day, Friday, April 5th, 2024, turning it into a day of a massive international cry against the occupation and its crimes against humanity, in support of the Palestinian people and their cause, covering events in solidarity with this important day, and launching and urging all events and commemorations in solidarity with the Palestinian cause and people.
Fifth: The IRTVU condemns all terrorist, oppressive, and arbitrary measures, and the massive destruction of all media outlets in Palestine, and the violations of the occupation authorities against journalists; it also condemns the actions taken by some media outlets and institutions that bans the Palestinian content from the public opinion, and the practices of discrimination against the Palestinian content, as well as all practices of suppressing freedoms, and killing and arresting journalists, and calls on an international uprising against them. The IRTVU also greets the martyrs of press, media, and news agencies, and every journalist who works on covering news and conveying the truth, from Palestine to the world. It labels them as messengers of truth and martyrs of peace. The IRTVU salutes their families for their huge sacrifices, and calls for honoring and taking care for them.
Sixth: The IRTVU calls on all media outlets, especially those who claim to be neutral and professional in covering the events in Palestine, the foreign ones in particular, which have been clearly the victims of a widescale misleading campaign by Zionist propaganda apparatuses, and were not as responsible as enough to check the news coming from certain sources, used such news, and adopted a fake narrative as a result of political and financial pressures, to reassess their professional and humanitarian stances and work on granting the Palestinian people and their cause the sufficient attention, and to deal with a true and hones vision being aligned with their humanity.
Seventh: The IRTVU hails the resistance, defiance, patience, and authenticity of the Palestinian people and its heroes, the martyrs, the wounded, and the detainees; and calls on rights institutions and media organizations to display the injustice practices against this people, their heroism, patience, bravery, and faith, to shed light on the crimes committed against them, such as aggression, siege, starvation, and displacement, to demand their basic rights and freedom, and lift injustice and oppression against them. The IRTVU also denounces any attempt to deny the Palestinian people’s right to determine their fate in the Gaza Strip and in all the occupied Palestinian lands without the Palestinian people, which the occupation regime is working to achieve, in an attempt to confiscate the political rights of the Palestinian people, mainly the right to independence.
Eighth: The IRTVU affirms the right of the Palestinian people and the resistance factions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, to resist the Zionist occupation as part of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood and the Flood of the Free, in all available and required frames. It also considers that the occupation and countries that support it are responsible for the displacement of the people and the genocide through denying the basic rights of the Palestinian people to life, food, security, and health, as they prevent the legitimate humanitarian rights of the Palestinians in all divine, humanitarian, and legal rules.
Ninth: The IRTVU salutes the Palestinian resistance, and the countries and factions forming the Axis of Resistance in Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon, Iran, Syria, and the friendly countries, for their brave stances. It calls on all groups, peoples, and countries to take similar steps and support them in performing their sacred duty in defending the Palestinian people and offering sacrifices. The IRTVU greets their efforts to serve the rights, and considers the cause of merging and normalizing the occupation entity with the Arab and Islamic countries as a kind of dreamy adventures that aim at ending the Palestinian cause and blending with the aggressor. The IRTVU calls on rejecting all normalization attempts and ending them immediately.
