Iraq cancels the license of the channel "mbc"

 

The board of Commissioners of the media and Communications Authority announced the cancellation of the license of the mbc channel in Iraq. The authority said that its decision stems from the duty assigned to it under the laws and legislations in regulating the media sector, preventing abuses and deterring violators of national values and public morals.

The commission pointed out that "considering the violation of the MBC satellite channel of the media broadcasting regulations through its repeated transgressions and encroaching on the martyrs leaders, "and stressed" taking all necessary legal measures and stopping it from working in Iraq”

“We direct the executive branch of our authority to cancel the work license granted to it,”she added.

Angry demonstrators had stormed the offices of the Saudi channel MBC in Baghdad to protest against a previously broadcast news report.

The Saudi MBC channel broadcast a report entitled” The Millennium of salvation from terrorists, " which quickly spread on social media accounts and sparked public outrage. The report praised the assassination of the head of the Hamas Political Bureau, Yahya Sinwar, by the Israeli enemy.
